PLC, HMI & SCADA Systems

A PLC onboard is not judged by how clever it is, but by how quickly someone can work out what it does at three in the morning with the manual missing.

We write logic with comments, named variables and diagnostic points. We design screens that show the real installation, not decorative graphics. And we always hand over the program.

Scope of work

  • PLC programming for auxiliary systems and deck machinery
  • HMI screen design with clear hierarchy and useful diagnostics
  • SCADA for central engine-room monitoring and data history
  • Replacement of relay logic with PLC control on older installations
  • Interfacing to AMS, PMS and third-party systems
  • Data logging and trending for performance analysis and preventive maintenance
  • I/O verification, loop checking and functional testing
  • Documentation: functional description, I/O list, drawings, backups

Typical symptoms & failures

  • A PLC with no available program or backup — no change is possible
  • Screens showing machinery that no longer exists
  • Logic written without comments, with variables named M0.3
  • A system that hangs and recovers only on a power cycle
  • No data logging at all — every incident analysis starts from zero

What you receive

  • Commented PLC program and HMI project files
  • Functional description and I/O list
  • Loop-check and functional-test protocol
  • Crew training on operation and diagnostics

Equipment & protocols

  • Siemens SIMATIC S7 and LOGO!, Schneider, Omron, Mitsubishi
  • Marine-specification industrial HMIs and panel PCs
  • SCADA platforms with historian and alarming
  • Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, CANopen, Ethernet/IP

Frequently asked questions

Can you take on a system with no documentation?

Yes. We start by reverse-engineering the logic and the wiring. It takes time, but it is the only safe basis for any change.

Does a mid-size vessel need SCADA?

Not always. A well-designed HMI with data logging often covers the need at far lower cost and complexity.

What about support after handover?

You get complete documentation and backups, so a third party can also intervene. We stay available for support without being a precondition.

Send us the problem

Describe the system, the vessel and what you are seeing. You get back a concrete intervention plan and a defined scope of work.
